Dedicated to empowering individuals and enhancing organizational excellence, she excels in talent management, focusing on recruitment, development programs, and personalized coaching to maximize potential. With a rich background in boosting organizational capabilities through strategic talent initiatives, Hlob’sile uses her unique blend of insight and empathy to guide clients towards transformative and sustainable outcomes.
Sylvia Seleka, Group Senior Talent Manager at Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited, boasts over a decade of experience in the mining sector. A Cum Laude graduate in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from North-West University, she excels in employee engagement, succession planning, and change management. Since joining Harmony in 2016, Sylvia has driven key initiatives, including social and labor plans and the Women in Mining strategy. Previously, she served at Impala Platinum and as a Registered Psychometrist at the Department of Labour. Sylvia is also a valued member of the Education Advisory Board and focuses on safety in the Behavioural Interest Group.
Erich K. is the Head of Learning and Development at Vedanta Zinc International, managing training functions across South Africa and Namibia. With 34 years in HR and training, particularly in the mining and engineering sectors, he holds a postgraduate diploma in management, and certifications in training, labor law, and Lean Sigma Black Belt. Erich has developed learning infrastructures globally and consulted for major clients like ArcelorMittal and Impala Platinum through his company, Knoskat (Pty) Ltd.
Passionate about skill enhancement and social development, he designs impactful nationalization and localization programmes.
Muhammed Patel, with over fourteen years in HR management within the mining industry, currently serves as the Executive of HR Operations at Implats since March 2019. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management from the University of Johannesburg. Known for transforming HR functions to align with strategic objectives, Muhammed has significantly enhanced HR operations and employee relations. His leadership and strategic insights continue to strengthen workforce management and organizational effectiveness in the Johannesburg Metropolitan Area.
Phumzile Mohlakoana is the Executive Manager at Total Energies in Johannesburg, with a robust educational background including an MBA from the University of Cape Town and an M.Eng in Engineering Management from the University of Johannesburg. With over four years at TotalEnergies, Phumzile has held key roles such as Managing Director and General Manager of Human Resources. He has spearheaded initiatives promoting cultural diversity and socio-economic empowerment, maintaining a B-BBEE Level 1 status. Phumzile also facilitated the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Trophy Tour in South Africa. His prior experience includes director positions at Macsteel and Scaw Metals Group, underscoring his strategic influence in the energy sector.
Gary, with 30 years in the mining industry, has a robust background starting with engineering and project management at Anglo American, where he led five mega capital projects. He later founded Cyest Corporation, focusing on mining optimisation, and a tech startup dedicated to next-generation technologies. Recently, he's been guiding the Vuuma Group, specialising in Accelerated Adult Learning and People-Centric consulting. A registered professional engineer, Gary is also the chairperson of the technical program and the incoming president of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, working to drive significant advancements in the mining sector.
