Stavros Nicolaou is a member of Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Limited Group Executive Committee and is the Group Senior Executive responsible for Strategic Trade Development. Previously he was CEO of Aspen’s Export Business. Aspen is Africa’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturer and a now world leader in Anaesthetics and injectable anti-coagulants. Aspen is one of South Africa’s most globalised multinational companies with a presence in over 50 geographies globally, with 26 manufacturing facilities across 6 continents. He was instrumental in introducing the first generic ARV’s on the African Continent developed by Aspen, which has gone on to save hundreds of thousands of lives in South Africa and on the African Continent.
With over eight years' experience in HR across different industries, Sibusiso is currently the Human Resources Manager at Netcare, South Africa's leading private healthcare provider. He manages the HR functions for over 500 employees across multiple facilities, ensuring compliance, performance, and engagement. His core competencies include talent management, organisational development, payroll management, employment law, and change management. Sibusiso has successfully implemented various HR initiatives and projects that have enhanced the employee experience, improved retention, and supported organisational growth and social responsibility. He holds a BA in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, and a Certificate in Compliance Management from the University of Cape Town. Theo Groenewald is Head of Data Management at Discovery Ltd. and is based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has 25 years’ experience in systems development, with a focus on customer facing technology. Theo has a passion for how data is used to delight customers. His team builds data products for their stakeholders across the Discovery Group. In his free time, Theo enjoys running, playing tennis and spending time with his family.
Candice has worked for multi-national companies like Deloitte and PwC as well as family-owned businesses such as Interconnect Systems. As a strategic business partner, she has assisted organizations with HR strategies, leadership development, executive coaching, performance management, talent management, organisational development, learning and development, and aligning and integrating policies and procedures to serve their differentiating organizational cultures.
Phumzile Mohlakoana is the Executive Manager at Total Energies in Johannesburg, with a robust educational background including an MBA from the University of Cape Town and an M.Eng in Engineering Management from the University of Johannesburg. With over four years at TotalEnergies, Phumzile has held key roles such as Managing Director and General Manager of Human Resources. He has spearheaded initiatives promoting cultural diversity and socio-economic empowerment, maintaining a B-BBEE Level 1 status. Phumzile also facilitated the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Trophy Tour in South Africa. His prior experience includes director positions at Macsteel and Scaw Metals Group, underscoring his strategic influence in the energy sector.
Gary, with 30 years in the mining industry, has a robust background starting with engineering and project management at Anglo American, where he led five mega capital projects. He later founded Cyest Corporation, focusing on mining optimisation, and a tech startup dedicated to next-generation technologies. Recently, he's been guiding the Vuuma Group, specialising in Accelerated Adult Learning and People-Centric consulting. A registered professional engineer, Gary is also the chairperson of the technical program and the incoming president of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, working to drive significant advancements in the mining sector.
