Professor Monica Singer is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and was the first CEO of South Africa's Central Securities Depository, Strate (Pty) Ltd, from 1998 to 2017. She currently serves as the South Africa Lead and advisor for ConsenSys, the largest blockchain company globally, while also being a Professor of Practice at the University of Johannesburg, specialising in blockchain for the accounting and auditing profession. Monica holds advisory roles with Montis Holdings, CV Labs, and Ubuntuland, Africarare’s African Metaverse ecosystem. Her past roles include positions at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, the World Bank, and SAICA, where she was Technical Director. Monica has served on several boards, including SAICA, GLEIF, Afrika Tikkun, and AMEDA. Recognised for her contributions, she won the Conscious Company award in 2017 and the Women in Tech 2022 award for Web 3 implementation in Africa.
Lee-Anne James is a seasoned leader in the tech industry, currently serving as the Data & AI Lead for Africa at Microsoft. With over a decade of experience at the company, she has played a pivotal role in advancing the adoption and integration of AI technologies across the continent. Her expertise spans business process optimization, risk management, requirements analysis, ITIL, and stakeholder management. Lee-Anne has a strong track record in business development and has led numerous high-impact initiatives that have empowered organizations to harness the power of data and AI for innovation and growth.
Before her current role, Lee-Anne held various strategic positions at Microsoft, including Senior Solution Specialist and Azure Specialist for Data & AI. Her journey in the tech industry is marked by significant contributions to the fields of software asset management and project management, with previous roles at Alexander Forbes and Dimension Data. A graduate of Microsoft's rigorous training programs, she is highly skilled in licensing solutions and has earned multiple certifications that underscore her deep knowledge and expertise in the software industry. Faith Burn is an accomplished executive currently serving as the Chief Information Officer at Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd, where she is responsible for overseeing the Group IT strategy across multiple divisions and subsidiaries.
